Sex is in the Heel! Cyndi Lauper & Billy Porter Preview Broadway-Bound Kinky Boots Musical

Grammy winner Cyndi Lauper, Billy Porter and the cast Kinky Boots headed to Chicago on August 6 to perform tunes from the anxiously awaited new musical. Inspired by a true story and based on the 2005 film of the same name, Kinky Boots is written by Lauper and Harvey Fierstein, and will open on October 2 at Chicago’s Bank of America Theatre, before transferring to Broadway in the spring of 2013. Directed by Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots will star Porter, Stark Sands, Annaleigh Ashford and more. The new musical tells the story of Charlie Price (Sands) as he steps in to save the family shoe factory after his father’s sudden death.
